The Ultimate Water Rocket Launch Pad

This is the basic aluminum pad and is exactly like the one used at the national competition without the pneumatic launching option. All you need for launching is a bicycle pump or a small air compressor like the Black and Decker "Air Station." Made of all machined aluminum, this pad offers the most in great appearance, and more importantly, great durability. This pad will never quit! And if anything should ever go wrong with it, NERDS Inc. will fix it or replace it for free! This pad is without a doubt, the easiest loading, most durable, and lowest cost water rocket launch pad on the internet or anywhere else!
(Note: Regulator and Gauge sold separately.)

Pneumatic Launch System Upgrade Kit

The ultimate addition to the Ultimate Water Rocket Launch Pad! This is the same launch system as used at the National Science Olympiad Competition. It provides a launch that is exactly the same every time. The rocket is pressurized and released by pushing buttons. Rocket pressurization occurs in under 5 seconds. You push the button and the rocket is launched. This system requires a large compressor (example: 1.5 horsepower motor and a 5 gallon tank or better.) or other constant pressure supply (i.e. SCUBA tank). It also requires high pressure line from the compressor to the launch system. Many states use this system at their respective regional and state competitions. (Arizona, Illinois, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, California, Kansas, North Carolina and others pending.)

NOTE: This upgrade kit is not a complete launcher - it is only to convert your existing Ultimate Water Rocket Launch Pad to a pneumatic system. You will need to ship your pad to us. We'll perform the upgrade and ship it back to you.

Gauge, brass T-block, 2 quick couples, regulator and mini-inline valve

This is needed if you have a large compressor. The regulator is used to adjust the pressure at the launch pad to the desired pressure. This is also a safety feature....it keeps the students from over-pressurizing their rockets.

The Ultimate Water Rocket Simulator v.2.0

This simulation is more in-depth than any other computer simulation on the market (that we know of). It has been written using a very accurate physics model, developed by a physicist. The simulation will let you vary dozens of design parameters, such as fluid density, nozzle diameter, bottle volume and diameter, and of course, initial pressure and water volume. The program keeps track of every detail of the flight and lets you examine graphs of these as functions of time.

"An Analysis of a Water Rocket Flight"

In the Fall of 1998, Adam Barney, a physics major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, took on a research project to model the physics of a water rocket flight. This 20-page report is the result of that semester-long project. The Ultimate Water Rocket Simulator (listed above) is based on the contents of this report. Go to the next level of Water Rocket understanding, with "An Analysis of A Water Rocket Flight".
